Emerson Automation Solutions Final Control Italia S.r.l. based in Lucca is a leader in the supply and sale of valves, actuators and regulation systems. Through collaboration with its clients, the company provides support in ensuring the safety of their plants and production sites, reducing down-times, and improving performance during the entire product life cycle, with the objective of creating, together with its industry and community partners, a more sustainable future.

 

 

Problems, critical issues, objectives

With the aim of consolidating and improving its internal organisation, the company consulted Sinergest and asked us to implement an integrated Quality-Safety management system in conformity with UNI EN ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 and D.Lgs 81/2008.

The company has now also decided to implement an IT tool which will allow them to control and manage their processes in a more structured and rational manner.

 

 

Solution

The renovation of the company’s control system required the phased introduction of an advanced management tool and its integration with the company’s present IT system. Sinergest has computerized Emerson’s internal procedures for the management of complaints, non-conformities, and corrective, preventive and improving actions, in conformity with all norms and legislation.

Moreover, Sinergest has standardized all management processes relating to product returns and assistance requests (related to the management system).

The introduction of a web-based Sinergest Suite platform has simplified the internal information flow via a mechanism of alerts and notifications, thus avoiding the dispersion of data, reducing management times, and ensuring control over requests and complaints.

A Sinergest Suite module dedicated to the management of the company’s personnel, specifically the information pertaining to personal data sheets, roles, tasks, competences, training, Individual Protection Devices, and medical visits. The centralized due register automatically keeps track of all deadlines relating to the management system, documentation and planned activities.

The computerization of its integrated management system has allowed the company to manage its clients and deliver prompt and efficient service, in addition to developing and enhancing the company’s human capital.

In view of our quite complex requirements, such as the integration of a document database with a portal dedicated to doctors, I was pleasantly surprised by the simplicity and efficacy of the proposed workflow solution, by the promptness of the interface, and by rapid implementation times of the project.

The choice of Sinergest Suite for an organization such as the University of Pisa, with over 3500 employees, was dictated by the need for a management system to ensure work safety and health (compulsory by law), one that allowed constant control over training distribution and its related updates.
